 In class we had to investigate different countries cultures. I chose to look at at Australia. Here is my slides on the culture food , clothing and my favourite parts  of Australia.

Book character Day 2020

 Today is book character day at Awahono School. 

I came dressed as the Cat in the Hat. Dr. Seuss wrote the book.

Two others in my family came as Thing 1 and Thing 2.

How to Mack Butter

Right now at Awahono school we are doing science rotations in the middle block of school.For the first two weeks we have been spending our time in room 5 

The first time we where in room five we did the water cycle the second time around we did the stages of cream. Today I will be sharing with you on how to make the perfect butter only using cream! 

How to make Butter: 

1: First step is to pour your desired amount of cream in a jar with a lid on top. Then you have to shack it. 

2:Now you will get different stages to your cream. The first stage you will get is a whipped cream. Then it will separate which means it is nearly there, make sure you are stills shaking it. Lastly you will have the butter and buttermilk YAY! 

3:You can also add some salt or herbs.

For home learning we had to plan a dream holiday, I would go back to the Gold Coast, Australia because I had so much fun there.

Pollution

I have made this Google drawing for you because we are all making a mistake. We are killing the animals in the ocean and even making ourselves eat plastic. Please stop throwing rubbish away in places it shouldn't be.

reduce, reuse and recycle.

This term we are focusing on reduce, reuse and recycle. Here is a few short paragraphs on what each means.


Reduce means to limit or use less of something I think mum should reduce the amount of printing she does. That would reduce the amount of ink and paper she uses. 

Reuse means to use something again or more than once. I use my cup or drink bottle more than once. I reuse paper by or writing on both sides. 

Recycle means to process something so it can be used again. Mum washes her yoghurt jars so we can put our pens and pencils in them. I also used one for my time capsule.

Olympics.

Unfortunately due to the global pandemic the 2020 Tokyo Olympic has had to be postponed till 2021. Just because the real Olympics has to be cancelled, does not mean the Awahono Olympics has to be cancelled.

First step for our Olympic journey is to pick a county!

My Family Tree

One of my home learning tasks was to research my family tree. Mum helped me, here is my family tree.
this one goes back 5 generations, mum has a tree that can go back 7 or 8 generations to the 1600's.

Spirit of the Anzacs

Today I had to listen to a song called Spirit of the Anzacs by Lee Kernaghan. 
I had to pick 2 words that I did not know about and then search them up. 

Here are my two words. 

 A platoon is a military unit typically composed of two or more squads/sections/patrols. . The platoon leader is usually a junior officer—a second or first lieutenant or an equivalent rank. The officer is usually assisted by a platoon sergeant. 

 Pride is a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements that is what pride means. Eg. I feel proud of the soldiers that fought for our country.

Brave

This week i listened to a story called Anzac Ted, he went on a journey with a soldier to war. Today I wrote  about my teddy call Brave and the adventures she comes with me.

My little white teddy is called Brave. She is white with a brown nose and two black eyes, she wears a pink dress that is getting a bit worn out. It had a love heart gem on the dress but it came off a long time ago. 

She has been with me during all my stays in the hospital.I hate hospitals because I have had to spend a lot of time in them.They make me feel scared and worried. Mum and Dad brought me Brave when I was 3 years old and in Nelson hospital with pneumonia. I was very scared and sick. Brave was there to cuddle. 

 When the Drs and nurses come to talk to me I squeeze Brave tightly and pretend I am at home. Brave makes me feel safe and strong when I am scared. I always take her with me when I go to stay in the hospital but if i'm only going for an appointment she stays at home and waits for me to get home and tell her all about how it went. 

This is brave.

Geometry and measurement.

This term in maths we are focusing on geometry and measurement, we had to find out what these mean.

Anzac Ted rhyming words.

To day I listen to the book Anzac Ted and wrote down as many rhyming words as i could.

The last post and how it makes me feel.

Today I listened to the last post and I had to write about how it made me feel.

The last post and how it makes me feel. The trumpet made me feel a bit sad the way he had played it. The background they chose was sad but all so cool. I liked how they used a real video. My heart sunk to the bottom because it is so sad to think about those people fighting in a war. It is such a hard thing to think about all of those nice people sadly a lot of them died in war. I am happy that we celebrate Anzac day to remind us about all of those great people. I also like how they still talk about it. It will bring back memories and reminders of the sacrifices that the soldiers made to save their countries. By Zoe.

My Keto Biscuits.

Today for home learning we did some baking, I made some keto biscuits. Mum was there to help if i needed but i did most of it by myself.

My feelings

My Heart has a lot of feelings. One of my feelings is happy. I know when i am happy because my cat makes me happy and feel good inside. Sometimes i get frustrated because i am tired,i feel like a bomb that is about to explode. If mum asks me one more time to clean my room im going to explode!

 

My Easter

When it was Easter I had a good time I spent some time with my Mum and a bit with Dad and Logan and Indy too. So I wrote a story about my Easter.

On Easter I thought I was going to be sad. But it turned out fine because I got a lot of things like a new horse blanket some new pj's two big lego tiles some keto lollies and a colouring in book that has Easter things in it. My pj's have unicorns on them my lego tiles are big and blue from Mum and Dad I also got a easter colouring in book.
It was a good easter even though i didnt get any chocolate.

Zoe monster.

Today i wrote about what my monster looks, sounds and smells like. then i drew a picture.

Zoe's monster.
Here is a description about my monster. Her name is Ellie. She is as tall as a skyscraper, as skinny as a twig and she is also lanky. Her blue snuggly fur smells like delicious candy floss, it smells so good it makes you want to eat her. Ellie's eyes are as big as the moon and as blue as the sky. Her teeth are disgusting like a rotten tomato, and yellow like mouldy cheese. She talks in a calm soft voice because she is friendly and kind and doesn't want to scare people. Ellie is a friendly, kind and helpful monster. By Zoe.

What Cat's are good at

As I have been at home we have been writing more stories and doing a lots of things. Here is one of my stories.
Cat's what are cat's good at ? Some cat's are good at being greedy or piggish, most cat's are good at sleeping. But some cat's can be mischeif too. But they are so cool. My cat is all of those things. But at night time my cat some times come's and sleeps with me. then when my mum and Dad go to bed they put the cat's out side. When dad go's to work some time my cat's come in and she goes on my bed. Or on my pillow and I wake up in the night and i am half way down my bed and my cat has spread out on my pillow. Some times  in the day she sleeps on my bed but I do not care. I love my cat Snickers.

My Cartoon Kiwi

To day we made a Cartoon Kiwi. Mum said to us what do you no about kiwi's and we wrote it down   on our Chromebook or in our book. Then when we finished that we had to get a piece of paper and draw a kiwi and here is mine.

Hunting

 When I have been at home I have been doing writing and a lot of other things. I am going to share one of my stories with you.

I am a hunter, I am going to find the biggest deer in the world its going to be hard but i am going to try. Of I go to shoot my biggest dear. I do not no where to start...  i mite start in the darkest place in the bush. I see something it look's big maybe it is my deer, am I going to get it? I see the deer. I am going to get it bang bang! I got the deer. Am I going to be famous? I dont no. I am going to show everyone. I showed the hunting and fishing company, guess what they said?? I have shot the biggest deer and won the trophy. They said i am going in the newspaper. So i guess i am now famous.   By Zoe

 

In Room 6

In room 6 we had Shib in to shown us  how to play cricket. We went to Ahaura Domain to play Cricket. I enjoyed playing Cricket with my class.

My goal's

In Room 6 we had to set goals for School and home. What I found hard was getting all my idea down. What I found easy was thinking of my goals. I think I have good goal's to do.

Dear Zoe 

At the moment my favourite activity is skipping and making  paper flowers and baking. My favourite pepall are Mum and Dad , Logan , Nana’s , Granddad, Billy and Dusty. What I like is how I got a now teacher and how I can sit with all my friends. My dislikes are getting up in the morning. My best friends are Haylee ,Sophie Tahlia and me. In five years I see myself better from my seizures. I hope that I am seizure free and healthy. 

My  goal's are 

• Reading: Aim to get more green on reading plus. 

• Writing  goal: extend my sentences to deepen my writing.

• Maths: practice my maths strategies for adding higher numbers.   

• Personal goal: is to drink 4 bottles of water a day. 

• Social goal is to make some new friends. 

• Something I am excited for this year? Seeing and trying new food each day.

• Something I am nervous for this year? Tech and high school.
